Andrew J. Wright

President & Chief Compliance Officer
(805) 592-1221

Having been in the financial services industry since 1995, I have prided myself on delivering consistent, reliable and comprehensive client experience. As a fiduciary, I have an obligation to provide time tested investment advice that is in the best interest of my clients.

Our lighthouse logo was inspired by the Point Judith Lighthouse near my hometown of South Kingstown, Rhode Island. For more than 200 years, the light and the keepers have ensured the safe passage along Point Judith’s rocky shoreline. The original lighthouse, a wood tower, was destroyed by a hurricane in 1815 and was replaced by a stone tower the following year. The lighthouse has since endured fires, winters, and hurricanes and even marks the location of the final wartime act in the Atlantic theater of World War II with the sinking of Nazi Submarine U-853.

The lighthouse symbolizes navigating through storms and rough waters. Few other symbols speak of lasting safety and security in the face of challenges quite the way a lighthouse does. Like the lighthouse, our wealth management strategies serve as a navigational aid that steers our clients in the right direction and keeps them on course and away from hazards.

I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. An engineering education develops your ability to think logically and solve problems to create sturdy structures built to endure nature's forces. My logical reasoning skills, analysis, and critical thinking were further enhanced through obtaining a Juris Doctor in 2011.

My early career as a civil engineering taught me that complex projects require planning, design, expert construction, and ongoing monitoring to successfully execute. We follow the same methodology with our wealth strategies processes, which, like structural engineering, are designed to put all the pieces of the financial puzzle together for our clients.

With a plan in place, our clients face the future with anticipation rather than apprehension, knowing, that with Wright Wealth Strategies acting as their guide through economic cycles and all types of market conditions, their financial independence and resources will endure.

Andrew

Stand-Up Paddle Board Enthusiast
(805) 592-1221

Andrew has always loved and been active in sports.  He competed in baseball, basketball and soccer as a youth, played in various adult softball and basketball leagues, and participated in mud mashes and a triathlon.  Andrew has even tried his hand at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Around 2012, Andrew experienced back and neck injuries and began looking for a low impact form of exercise and recreation that would strengthen the core muscles to better support his back.  He rented a paddleboard at Avila Beach one morning and was immediately hooked.

He enjoys Stand Up Paddle Boarding, because it’s a low impact exercise in which nearly every muscle in the body is used.  Your legs stabilize your center of gravity; the arms, back and shoulders get a workout from paddling; the back and abdominal muscles are constantly engaged to maintain your balance.

It is also a bonus to live on the beautiful Central Coast of California where seals, sea otters, dolphins and occasionally even humpback and gray whales can be spotted.  The quiet and peace on a Paddle Board create a sanctuary, away from screens and devices, for retrospection and internalization. The ocean provides a stunning and almost reverent environment where Andrew and his daughters create meaningful memories.

The unpredictable nature of the ocean and the unique challenges derived from it also contribute to the lure.  There are times when a calm and serene day in which you feel like you are gliding through the water without resistance can quickly deteriorate.  With gusting winds and choppy water, it becomes a struggle to even continue standing on the board. In turbulent waters, beginners often panic. Just like in investing, panic is never a feasible option.

We experience similar unpredictability in the economy, the equity markets, and our lives.  In paddle boarding as in investing, frequent course corrections are required to keep you moving in the desired direction toward the goal.  With an experienced and steady hand guiding you, this journal can be both beneficial for you in the long run and enjoyable.

Li

Avid Home Cook
(805) 592-1221

As a first-time mother, an only child of aging parents, and a Chinese immigrant a world away from her family and childhood friends, Li sees the wisdom behind Socrates, a guru who was sought out for advice but rarely gave any.  Socrates’ view was that you cannot change someone; you can only make them think. It’s the process of critical thinking that can help someone come to their own conclusions, break the status quo and inspire action; action driven by self-motivation rather than a pep talk.

Growing up in a beach city in Southern China, Li was accustomed to the sub-tropical climate and foods.  The abundance of seafood and a huge selection of tropical fruits made the non-negotiable 6 to 10 typhoons a year bearable.  Raised by parents who always worked full-time, varied shifts, even multiple jobs, Li inherited their impeccable work ethic, learned the value of self-sufficiency, and just as importantly, places a tremendous value in the family time during dinner every day.  As the setting for most thought-provoking and memorable conversations, a home-cooked dinner together with the loved ones means far beyond food and a daily routine to her.

Li became an avid home cook.  Preparing balanced and nutritious meals for her family and friends gives her great joy.  Li strives to cultivate critical thinking in her daughter Dekayla Daisy while cooking together in the kitchen, as she did with her mother:

  • Each ingredient tastes unique and can serve different purposes when utilized differently.
  • It takes a seasoned chef with a deep understanding of the ingredients, a well-thought-out plan, and the discipline to follow through to bring out the full potential of everything.
  • Furthermore, each experience boosts your courage and quick-thinking to modify and adapt along the way.
  • It rewards patience; it re-defines compromise; it instills delayed gratitude.

Cooking is a real-world example of leadership, collaboration, discipline, learning, execution, and teamwork all in action.

Li’s vision for a warm and loving home boils down to one of delicious spices and aroma where we take the time to look each other deep in the eye, expressing love in many languages including shared food and open hearts.
